What is a “dangerous building”?

A dangerous building is a structure for which the municipality has issued an official order (צו) requiring the correction of identified defects. These defects are detailed in a document that is provided to the owners or tenants of the building. If all the specified defects are properly eliminated, the dangerous building status will be lifted.
