From “מבנה מסוכן” to a beautiful, safe facade
The building, covered in mosaic tiles (psifas), had gradually deteriorated over time: water seeped behind the tiles, the rebar rusted and expanded, breaking through the concrete. Tiles were falling off, and cracks appeared on the walls.
There was already an official “dangerous structure” notice from the municipality, and the residents were seriously concerned for their safety — and for the cars parked below.
We stepped in to restore the facade and bring back the building’s well-kept, safe appearance.
What we did:
• Removed weak and hazardous sections
• Treated the rebar and applied a protective coating
• Pressure-washed the facade
• Sealed the joints with Sika paste
• Where psifas had fallen off, applied tiach and plaster, then recreated the mosaic-style pattern
• Fully sealed all joints
• Painted the facade with two coats of high-durability paint
• Used lifts, rope access, and scaffolding
• Also renovated the ceilings, columns (amudim), and walls in the parking area and entrance — with a clean shlicht finish
The result:
The facade is whole again, and the building looks brand new. The engineer removed its “מבנה מסוכן” status, the residents are happy, and now the building is a pleasure to look at — both inside and out.
We’ve built a warm relationship with the residents — and, in their words, they’re happy to recommend us.
